‘Killed over money dispute’: Father, son stabbed to death in Delhi’s CR Park; accused on the run

New Delhi: A father and his son were stabbed to death after a dispute with their neighbours over money in Delhi’s Chittaranjan Park (CR Park) area on Friday. The double murder, which took place at Tara Apartments, triggered panic in the locality. The accused fled after the attack.

The victims were identified as Rakesh Sood and his son Karan Sood. According to reports, the duo had an ongoing dispute with their neighbours. On Friday, an argument broke out between Karan and the accusedand escalated into a violent confrontation. The accused then attacked the man multiple times with a sharp weapon.

Bodies sent for post-mortem examination

When Rakesh tried to intervene to save his son, he too was attacked. The duo was critically injured in the attack and later succumbed to injuries.

Police teams rushed to the spot after receiving information, and a forensic team (FSL) was also called in to collect evidence. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.

Police suspect more people involved in attack

Preliminary investigation suggests the murders stemmed from a financial dispute between them. A case is being registered based on the complaint filed by the victims’ family, who have demanded strict action against the accused.

Police have launched a manhunt to trace the suspect, who remains absconding. CCTV footage from the area is also being scanned. The cops also suspect the role of other people in the attack. Senior officers visited the crime scene to assess the situation.
