According to the latest report of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), on May 30, 2026, the weather will be completely changed in many areas of Delhi, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. At some places, extreme heat and humidity will trouble people, while at other places rain, storm and thunderstorm will bring relief. There is a possibility of clouds, rain and strong winds in many cities of Delhi-NCR and UP, while the mercury will still remain around 40 degrees in many parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of thunderstorm, lightning and winds blowing at a speed of 40-50 km per hour in many areas.
Which city will be the hottest today?
On May 30, maximum heat will be seen in Durg and Raipur of Chhattisgarh. The maximum temperature here can reach 44°C. Apart from this, the temperature in Jabalpur of Madhya Pradesh is also expected to be 43°C. The effect of heat will also be strong in Banda, UP where the mercury can go up to 42°C. At the same time, due to rain and clouds in Delhi, the temperature is likely to fall to 35°C, which may provide some relief to the people.
How will the weather be in Delhi-NCR today?
The weather will be completely changed in Delhi on 30th May. According to IMD, it will be cloudy throughout the day and there may be light rain with thunder. The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be 35°C and the minimum temperature will be 23°C. Strong winds can blow at a speed of 40-50 km per hour in many areas. Thunderstorm activity is likely to be more during the afternoon and evening. There will definitely be relief from the heat but the humidity may increase.
Rain-storm alert in UP cities
The weather will be seen changing in most of the cities of Uttar Pradesh on May 30. Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Banaras and Agra will be affected by clouds, light rain and strong winds. The temperature in Lucknow will be up to 33°C and there may be rain with thunder and lightning. In Kanpur, there is an alert of rain with temperature of 39°C and winds of 40-50 Kmph. Heat will still persist in Prayagraj but strong thunderstorms and rain in the evening can provide relief. There is a danger of thunderstorm and strong winds in Agra and Bareilly also. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in some areas, especially in those places where there is a possibility of strong winds and lightning.
Rain will provide relief from heat in Bihar and Jharkhand
Patna, Arrah, Buxar and Aurangabad of Bihar will remain cloudy on May 30 and there will be a possibility of light rain or thunderstorm. The temperature in Patna may remain up to 35°C while the humidity will cause trouble due to increase in humidity. Whereas in Arrah and Buxar the temperature will be around 38°C. Talking about Jharkhand, the weather will be relatively pleasant in Ranchi, Daltonganj and Chatra. The maximum temperature in Ranchi is expected to be up to 33°C. Warning of strong winds of 40-50 Kmph and lightning has been issued in many areas. Due to continuous clouds and light rain in Ranchi and surrounding areas, heat wave like situation will not arise at present.

Heat still persists in Madhya Pradesh
The effect of heat will still remain in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain and Jabalpur of Madhya Pradesh. The temperature in Bhopal can go up to 41°C. The mercury will be around 40°C in Indore and Ujjain also. Jabalpur will be among the hottest cities where the temperature can reach 43°C. However, from May 31, there are signs of change in weather and increase in rain activities in many areas.
Alert of both heatwave and thunderstorm in Chhattisgarh
There will be severe heat in Durg and Raipur of Chhattisgarh on May 30. The temperature can go up to 44°C in both the cities. However, there is a possibility of thunder and light rain in some areas in the afternoon. The weather will be a little mild in Jagdalpur but here too an alert of lightning and thunderstorm has been issued.
How will the weather be in the coming days?
According to IMD, the temperature may come down slightly in many parts of North India from May 31 and June 1. Rain activities are likely to continue in Delhi, UP, Bihar and Jharkhand. Whereas in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the heat may gradually reduce, but at present the heat wave-like situation will not end completely.
