The team manager of Rajasthan Royals had used the phone in the dugout during the match against RCB, after which BCCI has taken action against him. BCCI has found the team manager of Rajasthan Royals guilty of violating anti-corruption rules and has imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on him. Romi Bhinder could not give a satisfactory reply to the show cause notice of the board and BCCI has also warned him. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia gave this information.
Why was Romi Bhinder found guilty?
The Anti Corruption Unit, under the leadership of Sharad Kumar, had issued a show cause notice to Bhinder and sought his reply. Saikia said that the ACU found Bhinder guilty after not being satisfied with his answers. As per IPL Players and Match Officials Area Protocol, phones cannot be used in the dugout. It can be used only in the pavilion. Saikia said, ‘Bhinder has been found guilty of violating the protocol. Since this is a first-time offence, a fine of Rs 1 lakh has been imposed on him and a warning has been issued. The BCCI secretary said, ‘Team managers can use phones in the dressing room, but not in the dugout. Enlistees can use their computers at the table.
