YouTube Shorts: How to turn off YouTube Shorts feed? New powerful feature has arrived. Youtube Now Lets Users Completely Turn Off The Shorts Feed

With the new update of YouTube, users can now turn off Shorts feed. For this, the daily limit has to be set to “0 minutes” in the settings. This will remove shorts feed from the homepage and help in controlling screen time.

Video sharing platform YouTube has brought a big update to further improve the experience of its users. You can now turn off the Shorts feed completely on the mobile app. This is a useful feature for those who feel that they are wasting too much of their time watching short videos.

How to turn off YouTube Shorts feed?

In this new update, YouTube has added a new option of “Zero Minutes” in the shorts timer. Until now, you could only set a time ranging from 15 minutes to two hours. But now, if you set the time to “zero minutes”, the Shorts feed will disappear completely from your homepage. With this you can avoid the habit of continuously scrolling.

YouTube officials say that users can set a daily limit for watching shorts. As soon as that limit is reached, a message will appear on the screen – “Your shorts limit for today has been reached.” If you set the time to zero, this rule will take effect immediately and the shorts feed will stop showing.

However, this change will be applicable only on the home screen. The company has clarified that shorts may still appear in your subscription feed and search results. So, this is not a complete blocking system, but it will go a long way in reducing the habit of watching shorts.

The update is gradually reaching all users

This feature was first introduced as ‘Parental Control’ for parents, so that they can control the screen time of children. But now it has been released for all users. This is the next step to the old features like ‘Take a Break’ and ‘Bedtime Reminder’. To turn off Shorts Feed, go to Settings in the YouTube app, then click ‘Time Management’ and in ‘Daily Limits’ turn on ‘Shorts Feed Limit’ and set the time to zero minutes. Note that this feature is being rolled out slowly, so it may not appear in your app right away.
