The organization also called for an independent, impartial and transparent investigation into the matter, stressing that those responsible must be held accountable. She also said that families have the right to know the fate and whereabouts of their loved ones and called for an immediate end to the practice of enforced disappearances.
Baloch activist expressed deep concern
Baloch activist Sahiba Baloch also expressed concern over the alleged incident in a post on X, calling it an alarming escalation in the ongoing human rights crisis in Balochistan. “The targeting of Baloch women and minors marks an alarming escalation in the ongoing human rights crisis,” he said.
Sahiba Baloch said the alleged disappearance of the 16-year-old student violates international law, including protections under the Convention on the Rights of the Child and other international human rights standards. He stressed that no State can justify the enforced disappearance of a minor and urged the international community, the United Nations, UN Special Procedures and global human rights organizations to urgently address the growing pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
