SUV hits bike and pedestrians
According to the complaint filed by Sanjay Parihar, a resident of Sanhera village in Datia district, he was travelling on a motorcycle with Ashish Parihar and Anshul Parihar for labour work. Two women, Sita Verma and Pooja Soni, were walking ahead of them on the road.
A black Thar Roxx SUV came from behind at high speed. It first hit the motorcycle and then struck the two women walking ahead. All five victims fell on the road and suffered injuries.
Victims sustain multiple injuries
Sanjay, Ashish and Anshul suffered injuries to their hands, legs and head. Sita Verma and Pooja Soni sustained injuries to their waist, shoulders and head. People present at the spot helped the injured and arranged assistance.
Ashish Parihar and Anshul Parihar alleged that Dinesh Lodhi was driving the vehicle. The SUV had “Pritam Lodhi” written on the front and “MLA” on the back. A video from the spot shows Dinesh Lodhi telling the injured, “I sounded the siren, why didn’t they move?” He also questioned why three people were riding a single bike and moving in a zigzag manner.
Case registered, probe underway
Police have registered a case against Dinesh Lodhi under Crime No. 255/26. Sections 281 and 125(A) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita have been invoked. Officials said an investigation is underway. Reports said Dinesh Lodhi had recently been active in the Karera assembly area and was heading to a gym at the time of the incident.
