Punishment-e-death found within 16 days
Madanlal Dhingra was arrested for murder and hanged on 17 August 1909 within just 16 days. At that time Dhingra’s body was buried in Britain, but after independence, his body was brought to India in 1976. At that time there was Indira Gandhi’s government in the country. The body of Madanlal Dhingra was kept in Akola, Maharashtra.

As far as I am concerned, any British court does not have the right to arrest, imprison or death. That is why I had no lawyers to defend myself.”

Madanlal Dhingra’s early life
Born on 18 February 1883 in Amritsar, Madanlal Dhingra was known as an Indian nationalist. He killed this murder in student life itself. His father Dr. Ditta Mal Dhingra was a civil surgeon. After completing intermediate studies, he moved to Lahore.
In those days he was influenced by the nationalist movement, he graduated and led the protests against the British while his postgraduate studies in 1904. He enrolled at University College, London for studying mechanical engineering. It was here that after meeting VD Savarkar, he participated in the freedom movement and caught the torch of revolution.
