Indian Air Force has sent a proposal to the Ministry of Defense to buy 114 Rafale fighter jets. 60% of these will be Indian. Aircraft will be built in India. You may have to spend 2 lakh crore rupees to buy so many aircraft.
Rafale fighter jet: The Ministry of Defense has received a proposal to achieve 114 ‘Made in India’ Rafale fighter jets from the Indian Air Force. Discussion on this has started. These aircraft will be manufactured by French firm Dassault Aviation with Indian aerospace firms.
2 lakh crore rupees will be spent in purchasing 114 Rafale aircraft
The price of 114 Rafale aircraft is expected to be more than Rs 2 lakh crore. It will include more than 60% indigenous content. It is expected to be discussed by the Defense Procurement Board headed by the Defense Secretary in the next few weeks. Defense officials said,
The Statement of Case (SOC) or proposal for 114 Rafale jet aircraft prepared by the Indian Air Force was received by the Ministry of Defense a few days ago. It is being considered by various wing under this including defense finance. After deliberations, the proposal will be taken to DPB. After this, it will be discussed in the Defense Acquisition Council.
Indian Air Force has 36 Rafale aircraft
The Indian Air Force already has 36 Rafale aircraft. Rafael performed brilliantly against Pakistan at Operation Sindoor. It managed to defeat Chinese PL-15 air-to-air missiles using its spectra electronic warfare suit.
Aircraft made in India are also likely to have long distance air -hit missiles compared to the current scalp. It was used extensively to attack military and terrorist bases inside Pakistan. Scalp is a missile that attacked the ground from the wind.
Dassault Aviation is also planning to establish a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility for M-88 engines in Hyderabad. This engine looks in Rafael Jet. Dassault has already established a firm for Rafael’s maintenance. Indian aerospace firms like Tata are also likely to be part of the construction.

Let us know that the Indian Air Force is currently facing shortage of fighter aircraft. To overcome this, an order of 180 LCA Mark 1 A Jet has already been placed. There are also plans to include a large number of indigenous fifth generation fighters after 2035.
