In the Nari Shakti Vandan Mahasammelan organized in Raipur, CM Vishnudev Sai said that Nari Shakti Vandan Act 2023 is a historic step for the empowerment of women, which will give them 33% participation in politics and decision process.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai participated in the Nari Shakti Vandan Mahasammelan organized at Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital Raipur and reiterated the government’s commitment towards women empowerment. He said that the Nari Shakti Vandan Act 2023 is a historic and important step towards the participation of women of the country in the decision process.
Role and schemes of government in empowerment of women
The Chief Minister said that the Central and State Governments are making continuous efforts to empower women. He mentioned the schemes implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that schemes like Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and Mahtari Vandan Yojana have helped women to become self-reliant.
He also informed that this year is being celebrated as ‘Mahtari Gaurav Varsh’ in Chhattisgarh and under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, about 70 lakh women are being given financial assistance of Rs 1000 every month, due to which they are moving forward in the fields of education, health and employment.
Highest position of women in Indian culture
In his address, the Chief Minister said that the place of women has always been supreme in the Indian Sanatan tradition. He said that we worship Goddess Bhagwati before God and worship Goddess Lakshmi for prosperity, Saraswati for knowledge and Durga for strength. He also said that efforts to provide reservation to women were made earlier also, but the bold decision to implement it was possible only under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Nari Shakti Vandan Act: Big decision of the 21st century
The Chief Minister said that the Nari Shakti Vandan Act is one of the most important decisions of the 21st century. With this, women will get more participation in politics and administration and they will be able to play an important role in the development of the country. The resolution of “Women in Decision Making from Panchayat to Parliament – Preparation for New India” was reiterated in the programme.
Increasing participation of women from Panchayat to Parliament
The Chief Minister said that already more than 14 lakh women are actively working in Panchayat Raj institutions. This is proof of his growing confidence and leadership abilities. During the program, he honored the women by giving them flowers and congratulated them and wished them well.
Presence of women leaders and dignitaries
In this program, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade said that the willpower and determination of women are enabling them to take big decisions. Former Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey said that this Act will be implemented till the year 2029, under which women will get 33 percent reservation in Lok Sabha and Assembly. Many dignitaries including MP Roopkumari Chaudhary, MP Brijmohan Aggarwal, Padmashree Usha Barle, MLA Purandar Mishra, Child Protection Commission Chairperson Varnika Sharma and famous hockey player Neeta Dongre were present in the programme.
