More than 82 thousand people are benefiting from the schemes of Social Welfare Department in Jashpur district. Pension, disability assistance, rehabilitation and social security schemes are providing financial help, self-reliance and better life to the needy.
Various schemes run by the Social Welfare Department are bringing positive changes in the lives of thousands of needy people of Jashpur district. A total of 82,583 beneficiaries are benefiting from these schemes being run for the elderly, widows, disabled people and economically weaker sections. This figure shows the strong social security system in the district. These schemes of the Social Welfare Department are not only providing financial help, but are also providing a dignified life, self-reliance and better quality of life to the people.
Deputy Director Social Welfare Department said that these schemes are creating a strong base of social security in Jashpur and giving opportunity to every section of the society to move forward.
Pension schemes Jashpur: Elderly, widows and disabled people are getting support
Many pension schemes are becoming a support for the needy in Jashpur district.
- 16,509 elderly people benefited under Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme
- Assistance to 4,356 women from Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme
- 656 disabled people benefited under Indira Gandhi National Disabled Pension Scheme.
- 14,294 beneficiaries benefited from Social Security Pension Scheme
- Assistance to 4,407 people under Sukhad Sahara Pension Scheme
- The highest number of beneficiaries are in the Chief Minister Pension Scheme, which covers 40,244 people.
Apart from this, 102 families were given financial assistance under the Family Assistance Scheme, which provided relief to them in difficult times.
Disabled Persons Empowerment Schemes: Steps towards self-reliance
Many schemes are being run to make the disabled people self-reliant –
- Assistance to 180 students under Disabled Scholarship Scheme
- 5 people benefit from Divyangjan Marriage Promotion Scheme
- Under the Artificial Limbs and Assistive Devices Scheme, equipment was given to 290 people.
- 550 beneficiaries benefited from Disabled Empowerment Development Scheme
- Support in education to 4 disabled students under ‘Kshitij Apar Possibilities’ scheme
Through these schemes, disabled people are not only becoming self-reliant but are also moving towards living a respectable life in the society.
Social Rehabilitation and De-addiction: Return to Mainstream Initiative
Through the de-addiction and rehabilitation center in Jashpur district, so far 157 people have been freed from drugs and connected to the mainstream of society. This initiative is bringing positive changes not only in the lives of individuals but also in the lives of their families.
Old Age Home and Teerth Darshan Scheme: Respect and satisfaction in the life of the elderly
12 elderly people are getting the facility of safe and respectable life in Janak Old Age Home located in Jashpur Nagar. Under the Chief Minister Teerth Darshan Scheme, 782 senior citizens were taken on a trip to religious places, due to which they got spiritual satisfaction.
Apart from this, mobility is being provided to the disabled people through the Motorized Tricycle Scheme, which is making their daily life easier.
