Virat Kohli suffered an ankle issue during the away game against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday (April 12) and didn’t come out to field in MI’s chase.
Few overs into MI’s chase, it was reported that Kohli suffered an ankle issue. It looks like Kohli hasn’t recovered from it fully as he batted with a strapped leg in the nets on the eve of the game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The positive thing from RCB’s net session was that Kohli batted for long without any discomfort. The former RCB captain should be fit for the LSG game. The team management could use his services as an Impact Player if he isn’t fully fit.
Kohli is in form and he has scored 179 runs in four innings. He has the second-most runs for RCB in IPL 2026. His tally inicludes two half-centuries. was upset with himself despite scoring half-century against MI and he threw his bat and gloves in frustration.
The IPL legend scored 50 off 38 balls in the previous fixture. Courtesy of half-centuries from Rajat Patidar, Kohli and Phil Salt, RCB registered a big total of 240/4 on the board. Tim David gave a perfect finishing touch to RCB’s score and remained unbeaten 34 off 16 balls. MI scored 222 in 20 overs to lose the game by 18 runs.
