Sharing her excitement on Instagram stories, Neetu Kapoor posted a clip from the film and wrote, “Beautiful movie @sonirazdan you were so good.” Saba Azad also plays an important part in the film’s narrative, which is set in 1950s Kashmir. The story follows Zeba Akhtar, a young woman who challenges societal expectations to pursue her passion and becomes the legendary singer Noor Begum (also known as Raj Begum), the first female voice on Radio Kashmir. The film is loosely inspired by the life of the Padma Shri awardee and highlights her struggle for recognition in a conservative society, as well as her enduring contributions to Kashmiri music.
The film also stars Taaruk Raina, Sheeba Chadha, Zain Khan Durrani, and Lillete Dubey in significant roles, adding depth to the storyline.
