Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched Inclusive Education Mission-2030. Emphasized on inclusive education by releasing new learning material for Special Needs children.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday inaugurated the ‘Inclusive Education Mission-2030’ of ‘Shine AV Learning’ at a private hotel on Rajpur Road in Dehradun. According to a press release, on the occasion the Chief Minister also launched visual learning books and other learning materials designed for special needs children.
In this program, CM Dhami said that this initiative of ‘Shine AV Learning’ is an important step towards making education more accessible, effective and inclusive. He said that both the Central and State Governments have always given utmost priority to education. Referring to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 brought by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that the objective of this policy is not only to teach children but also to equip them with the necessary thinking, innovation and confidence to be successful in life.
Efforts to strengthen the field of education
According to the press release, Dhami said that the state government is continuously strengthening the education sector by promoting education based on smart classrooms, ICT Labs, PM Shri School, Atal Utkrisht School, digital learning content and science-innovation. He said to ensure that inclusive education reaches every child, the government has provided facilities like ramps, railings, handicapped accessible toilets, special furniture and clean drinking water in schools.
Emphasis on education of children with special needs
The Chief Minister said that about 5,800 children with special needs are currently studying in schools in Uttarakhand. More than 1,300 children are provided special education and rehabilitation services through 11 special schools run by the government. He further said that more than 300 special educators have been appointed at primary and secondary levels, while the process of recruitment is going on for the remaining vacant posts. “The government aims to ensure that every child gets an inclusive and quality education, so that every child in the state can realize his or her full potential and contribute to building a developed India,” he said. Emphasizing his point, he said, “We have to prepare our children not just for examinations, but for life.”
Praise for innovators and mention of ‘reverse migration’
The Chief Minister congratulated educationist Anita Sharma and the entire team of ‘Shine AV Learning’. He said that Anita Sharma, after returning to Uttarakhand from abroad, is doing new experiments in the field of education. The CM described his step as an inspiring example of ‘reverse migration’ for others. He also said that in recent years many migrants have expressed their desire to return to their native villages and many have already returned. He also stressed the need to preserve the state’s heritage and carry forward its rich cultural traditions.
Uttarakhand: A Model of Development
Dhami said that Uttarakhand welcomes people from all over the country and people here give importance to any person on the basis of his work and thoughts. He said that despite many challenges, the state is continuously moving forward on the path of development and the people of Uttarakhand always inspire the government to do better. He further said that Uttarakhand has emerged as a model for the country in many respects. The state is the first in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), has achieved the top position in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) rankings, and has also implemented a strong anti-copying law to bring transparency in the education system, the press release said.
