KKR vs CSK: CSK and KKR have realized a big mistake before facing off against each other in IPL 2026. Sunrisers Hyderabad has made him realize this. Worked in CSK and KKR before joining SRH
Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Shakib Hussain for Rs 30 lakh in the IPL 2026 auction. But, before becoming a part of the Orange Army, this fast bowler from Bihar was also associated with Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. While Shakib was included in Chennai Super Kings as a net bowler in the year 2023, the Kolkata team bought him in the IPL 2024 auction.
CSK and KKR let Shakib Hussain go
But, neither Chennai nor Kolkata team understood his value. Let them go without knowing their capabilities. He was a net bowler in CSK. But KKR had bought him in the auction. It is obvious that he must have seen something. But while being in the Kolkata team, he remained sitting on the bench for the entire season. After this he was also released before the next season.
SRH showed confidence and did wonders
But, what was rejected by both CSK and KKR, was adopted by Kavya Maran’s team in the IPL 2026 auction. Saqib Hussain is now living up to the trust that Sunrisers Hyderabad showed in him. Becoming the bowler of SRH, Shakib has taken 4 wickets while giving 24 runs in 4 overs on his IPL debut. In this way, he made an important contribution in the victory of Sunrisers Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals.
