Oil reaching Israel through this ‘secret’ route
The peace talks between America and Iran in Islamabad ended inconclusively. Soon after, America announced a blockade of Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz. Now its effect is directly visible on the world’s oil supply, crude oil has increased by about 10%. 100 dollars has crossed and the danger of energy crisis has deepened.
While countries around the world are appealing to end the war due to rising inflation and pressure, on the other hand Israel, Gaza and Lebanon are continuing their military operations with full vigor. Now the biggest question is, when the whole world is struggling for oil, then how are Israel’s tanks and fighter jets running full? After all, where is he getting the oil from? Which is such a safe route or supply chain, which is not being affected by Iran’s blockade?
Israel is getting oil through these routes
According to ‘OilChange International’, between November 2023 and October 2025, Israel has successfully shipped approximately 21.2 million tonnes of crude and refined oil to its ports. The biggest reason for this uninterrupted supply is that about 70 percent of Israel’s oil comes from routes over which Iran has no control.
At present, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have emerged as the biggest saviors of Israel’s energy needs. Azerbaijan sends its crude oil to Ceyhan Port in Türkiye, from where it is transported to Israel through tankers. Similarly, Kazakhstan’s oil comes through pipeline to the Black Sea coast of Russia and is shipped from there to Israel.
Getting ‘dose’ of fighter jets from America
Israel’s state-of-the-art fighter planes require a special ‘JP-8’ jet fuel to fly. America stands strongly on this front. According to the report, about 3.6 lakh tonnes of this special military fuel has been sent to Israel from the ‘Valero Refinery’ located in Texas by November 2025.
On the other hand, Russia, which often has a different opinion from Israel in global diplomacy, is a big helper of Israel in matters of trade. Refined petroleum is needed to run the tanks and other military vehicles of the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). Today, about 45 percent of Israel’s total refined fuel is coming from Russia alone. On the basis of this strong supply chain, the Israeli Army is carrying out its operations without any stop.
Backdoor game through Italy
In international diplomacy, what is seen is not always true. The data shows that Brazil officially stopped sending oil directly to Israel after March 2024. But the revelations of the Rio de Janeiro Oil Workers Union have exposed this ‘ban’. In fact, Brazilian oil no longer directly reaches Italy’s Sardinia refinery. From there it is re-routed and sent to Israel.
Apart from this, behind Israel’s strong position are its far-reaching policies. In a statement given to ‘Times of Israel’ in March 2026, Eco Energy CEO Amit Mor had clarified that the country always has at least 3 months of emergency fuel reserve. This reserve is in line with International Energy Agency (IEA) standards, which prevents the country from coming to its knees in any emergency.
Is everything normal for Israel?
Even though Israel has secured itself on the military front, the situation has started changing on the domestic front. The situation has become sensitive since the joint attacks launched by America and Israel on Iran on 28 February 2026. Real-time data of marine traffic is testifying that the movement of oil tankers has now slowed down significantly at major Israeli ports like Haifa, Ashdod and Ashkelon. It is believed that its direct impact will be on the pockets of the common people of Israel. Due to this recent slowdown in supply, fuel prices at Israel’s petrol pumps may increase rapidly very soon.
