IPL 2026: Will MS Dhoni play against KKR? CSK legend inching towards full fitness

New Delhi: MS Dhoni is reportedly inching towards full fitness and is close to returning in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. However, the legendary wicket-keeper batter is unlikely to play in Chennai Super Kings’ upcoming clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday, April 14.

As per a report in RevSportz, Dhoni is close to attaining full fitness as he continues to recover from a calf strain that he suffered before the start of the season. However, he needs some more time before returning to action and will thus miss CSK’s next game against KKR on Tuesday.

As per the report, Dhoni might return to action in CSK’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 18 if his recovery goes as planned. The CSK legend has not featured in a single game for the five-time champions so far this season. In his absence, CSK have made a poor start to the season, with only a solitary win in their first four matches in IPL 2026.
