Women’s T20 World Cup: Team India becomes champion, will get record prize, prize money increased by so many crores

No matter which World Cup it is, winning the title and becoming champion is always special. Be it men’s cricket, women’s cricket or Under-19 level, every team dreams of winning the World Cup. Not only is the feeling of being called a world champion special, the reward that comes with it also makes it attractive. Especially when there is a huge increase in the prize money with every World Cup. ICC has done something similar regarding the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, where it has made a huge increase in the previous prize money by about Rs 7.5 crore.

Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 is to be held in England and Wales in June-July. This time a total of 12 teams will participate in the tournament, which is the highest in the history of the World Cup. In view of this, increase in prize money was already decided. But this time the ICC headed by Jay Shah has given a direct increase of 10 percent, due to which not only the two new teams but also the champion team will get more money than before. Besides, every team will get a good amount of money.

ICC announced increased prize money for this World Cup on Monday 13 April. According to this, this time a total prize pool of $87,64,615 has been prepared for the entire tournament, which is about $8.06 lakh more than the $79,58,077 of the last World Cup. That means this time there is a prize pool of around Rs 81.8 crore, which is Rs 7.5 crore more than last time. Now the question is, how much money will the winning team get?

The Indian women’s cricket team, which recently won the ODI World Cup for the first time, will enter this tournament as a contender for the title. If captain Harmanpreet Kaur is successful in making the team champion here too, then Team India will get a reward of around Rs 22 crores. Yes, this time the champion team will get a prize of $ 23,40,000 i.e. approximately Rs 21.87 crore. New Zealand, which won the title last time, had received around Rs 20 crore.
