IMD Amaravati: Hot, humid conditions likely in Coastal AP, Rayalaseema

Visakhapatnam: Hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail at some places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema over the next seven days, India Meteorological Department in Amaravati said.

Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius is likely over the next few days. Lower tropospheric southerlies/ south-westerly winds prevail over AP and Yanam.

APSDMA warns of heatwave:

Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Agency (APSDMA) MD Prakhar Jain has said that heatwave conditions will prevail in 51 mandals on Monday and in 57 districts on Tuesday.

He further said that on Monday, severe heatwaves are likely to occur in 9 mandals of Srikakulam district, 18 mandals of Vizianagaram district, 15 in Parvathipuram Manyam district, 1 in Alluri district, 3 in Polavaram, 3 in Anakapalli, and 2 in Eluru district. Additionally, he stated that heatwaves are expected to impact 2 mandals in Srikakulam district, 5 in Vizianagaram district, 4 in Alluri district, 9 in Polavaram, 5 in Anakapalli, 5 in Kakinada, 9 in East Godavari, 4 in Eluru, 3 in NTR district, 2 in Palnadu, and 1 in Nandyal district.

On Sunday, Kadapa district recorded the highest temperature of 43.8 degrees Celsius followed by 43.1 degrees in Varadayyapalem (Tirupati district), 42.9 degrees in Nandyal, 42.3 degrees in Therannapalle Anantapur district.
