Ambedkar Jayanti 2026 will be celebrated on a grand scale in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi government is running it as a social justice and awareness campaign. People will be made aware of their rights through programs, seminars and public relations across the state.
Lucknow. This year, preparations have been made to celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti on a large and unprecedented scale in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi government has not limited it to just one memorial day but has turned it into a big campaign of social justice, public awareness and public relations. Various programs are being organized in all the districts and assembly constituencies of the state, where public representatives will directly connect with the people and inform them about their rights, Constitution and values of equality.
Main event organized in Hazratganj, Lucknow
The main program will be organized in the Ambedkar Mahasabha complex located in Hazratganj of the capital Lucknow, which will be the main center of this entire event. This program will be held under the leadership of Mahasabha Trust President and Legislative Council member Lalji Prasad Nirmal. It will start with Buddhist monks paying floral tributes to Baba Saheb’s ashes and worshiping Buddha. After this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will pay tribute to Baba Saheb.
Emphasis on strengthening social justice and democracy
The aim of the Yogi government is to take Baba Saheb’s ideas – equality, social justice and democratic values to every section of the society. In this direction, MPs, MLAs and other public representatives will go among the people in all the districts of the state and make them aware of their constitutional rights and duties. This will increase awareness in the society and the foundation of democracy will become stronger.
Baba Saheb’s statues will be beautified
The government has also taken an important decision before Ambedkar Jayanti. As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, umbrellas will be installed on the statues of Baba Saheb across the state. Besides, the boundary wall and surrounding area will also be beautified for their safety. This decision is being described as historic, due to which enthusiasm is being seen among Ambedkar followers and Dalit society.
Entire UP will become ‘Ambedkarmay’ on 14th April
Ambedkar Jayanti will be celebrated with great pomp across Uttar Pradesh on 14th April. Various programs will be organized in universities, colleges, schools and social institutions. These will include seminars, speeches, essay competitions and debates, through which the new generation will be introduced to Baba Saheb’s thoughts and his struggles.
Special programs will be held in educational institutions
Special programs will also be organized in the offices, hostels and educational institutions of the Social Welfare Department. In these, along with garlanding the statue and portrait of Baba Saheb, his life, teachings and contribution in the making of the Constitution will be discussed. Apart from this, essay, speech and debate competitions will also be organized.
Murti development plan got approval
The Cabinet chaired by the Chief Minister has approved the Dr. BR Ambedkar Statue Development Scheme. Under this scheme, 10 monuments and statues of social justice greats will be developed and beautified in every assembly constituency of the state. About Rs 403 crore will be spent on this scheme. Under this, the monuments of great men like Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Sant Ravidas, Kabir, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Maharishi Valmiki will be conserved and developed.
