IPL 2026: Heavy congestion expected near Uppal stadium for SRH vs RR match; traffic diversions issued

Hyderabad: In the view of Indian Premiere League 2026 – a total of seven matches to be held on April 13, 18, 21 and May 3, 6, 22 – at Uppal Stadium, traffic congestion is to be expected. Traffic diversions will be imposed on movement of traffic in the limits of Uppal traffic police station.

Categories of heavy vehicles for which diversions will be made are lorries, rocket lorries, dumper, earth movers, trucks, tippers, water tankers, RMC vehicles, JCBs, Eicher vans, private buses and tractors.

Traffic will be diverted on April 13, 2026, in view of spectator rush towards RGIC stadium for IPL cricket match Sun risers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals.

Moderate traffic is expected from 12 pm to midnight from Nagole to Habsiguda via Uppal Junction and from Boduppal to Amberpet via Uppal Junction and Ramanthapur. Use alternative routes via LB Nagar, Nacharam, NFC and ORR.

Routes of diversions:

Route of approach of Heavy vehicles from Ghatkesar to Uppal will be diverted at HMDA Uppal Bhagyath entrance at Mehfil Hotel toward Nagole-LB Nagar.

Heavy vehicles from Warangal-Hyderabad via Uppal shall take the ORR at Ghatkesar and proceed via Abdullapurmet – LB Nagar- Dilsukh Nagar.

Vehicles from Hyderabad-Warangal via Uppal shall proceed through LB Nagar-Hayathnagar and take the ORR at Abdullapurmet to reach Warangal.

Parking areas: 

Five major parking locations have been identified for spectators and four of them are located outside RGIC within 500 metres of radius for general public and one is included inside the stadium for pass holders or VVIP/VIP guests.
