Yogi government has approved the modernization of 49 bus stations in UP. These bus terminals, built on PPP model, will have modern facilities, security and digital systems, which will provide better services to the passengers.

Lucknow. Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has taken a big step towards modernizing and strengthening the transport system. The Phase-2 Bus Station Development Project of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) on Public Private Partnership (PPP) model has been approved. Under this, 49 major bus stations of the state will be redeveloped, which will be prepared as modern, world class and multi-purpose bus terminals. A transparent and competitive tender process will soon be started for the selection of developers under the project.

PPP Model Bus Station UP: Development will happen through private investment

Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that this project is based on PPP model. It will be implemented in the DBFOT (Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer) framework. There will be no direct capital expenditure on the state government. The bus stations will be developed with private investment, while the ownership of the land will remain with the transport corporation.

Smart Bus Terminal Facilities: Sanitation, Security and Digital Systems

Under the new project, cleanliness, security and digital information systems in bus stations will be improved. Along with this, parking, commercial complex and other supporting facilities will also be developed. This will provide passengers with a modern, safe and convenient travel experience and will convert bus stations into smart infrastructure.

Economic Growth UP: Employment and development will get a boost

The Transport Minister said that this project will create new employment opportunities in the state. With this, economic activities will get a boost and urban development will get a new impetus. This initiative is being considered an important step towards building modern transport infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh.

Phase 2 Bus Station List: These bus stands will be rejuvenated

Under Phase-2, bus stations of many major districts will be modernized, which include-

  • Ayodhya (Old Bus Station)
  • Azamgarh (Tarwa)
  • Ballia (Rasra, Belthara Road)
  • Balrampur
  • Barabanki (Haidergarh)
  • Basti, Bijnor (Nahtaur)
  • Badaun
  • Bulandshahr (Old, Khurja)
  • Deoria
  • eta
  • Firozabad (Firozabad, Shikohabad)
  • Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida)
  • Ghaziabad (Garh, Loni)
  • Gonda
  • Hardoi

Development in other districts including Lucknow. UP Transport Expansion

In the second phase, Hathras, Jaunpur (Jaunpur, Machhilshahr, Badshahpur), Jhansi, Kanpur Dehat, Kaushambi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lucknow (Kaiserbagh and Jankipuram), Maharajganj (Sunauli, Nichlaul), Mirzapur (Vindhyachal), Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Pilibhit, Pratapgarh (Kunda), Rampur, Shravasti, Sitapur. Bus stations of many other districts including Naimisharanya, Sidhauli, Sonbhadra (Robertsganj), Unnao, Varanasi (Kashi), Chandauli will also be developed.
