Now the fear is that Trump may put all the blame for this failure on Vance.
That ‘joke’ of Trump which is now going to come true?
Earlier this month, during a press briefing at the White House, Trump had said a big thing jokingly. He had said, ‘If a deal is made with Iran, I will take all the credit. But if the deal doesn’t happen, I will hold JD Vance responsible. At that time it seemed like a joke, but today when the deal has failed, it seems that Trump had already set the ‘game’. It has been Trump’s old habit that whenever something goes wrong, he blames his associates.
Why did Trump send Vance on a ‘difficult mission’?
The surprising thing is that Trump did not send any old and experienced diplomat to talk to Iran. He chose JD Vance, whose influence in the White House is steadily declining. Experts believe that there is a rift between Vance and Trump on many issues and perhaps that is why he was put on this most difficult task.
Iran’s tough stance and Trump’s confusion
Now the command of power in Iran is in the hands of Mujtaba Khamenei, who is considered to be very strict. During the talks in Islamabad, Iran put forward such demands which were impossible to accept, such as removal of all sanctions without stopping the nuclear program, the right to collect taxes on sea routes (Strait of Hormuz). When Vance could not resolve these demands, Trump immediately changed his stance and announced a maritime blockade of Iran.
Is JD Vance’s future in danger?
JD Vance was once considered Trump’s successor, but now the situation has changed. Trump has already shown the door to many important people of his team (like Kristi Noem and Pam Bondi). However, it is not so easy to remove the Vice President in America, but if Trump puts the blame for this war and the failure of the deal on Vance, then Vance’s dream of becoming President in the future may be shattered.
