Do you also get up almost every night between 1 and 3 am to urinate? If yes, then do not ignore it as just a habit. This could be an internal signal from your body, which is telling you that somewhere the balance is getting disturbed.
Mumbai’s celebrity nutritionist and founder of Eatfit 24/7, Shweta Shah is telling us about this.
It is not just a habit, it is a signal from the body – understand the real reason.
According to Ayurveda, the time from 1 to 3 am is considered the time of liver activity and detox. If during this period your sleep gets interrupted again and again and you feel the need to urinate, then there can be many reasons behind it –
excess pressure on liver
- The habit of eating too much oily, processed or late food can overload the liver.
hormonal changes
- This problem can increase especially after the age of 35-40 due to changes in estrogen and other hormones.
blood sugar imbalance
- Due to ups and downs in sugar level at night, the body wakes up again and again and the urge to urinate increases.
bladder weakness
- Frequent urination can also be a sign of weakening of the bladder muscles.
More tea/coffee or salt in the evening
- Caffeine and excess salt can cause water retention in the body and frequent urination.
Indication of Vata Dosha – What is happening inside?
In Ayurveda it is linked to the imbalance of Vata dosha. When Vata increases in the body, sleep becomes light and breaks frequently, the mind remains more active and dryness and instability increases in the body. This is the reason why you are not able to stay in deep sleep and have to get up again and again.
