The film was prepared by Shashi Kapoor and Gennadi Vasiliev in 6 years. Along with Bollywood, many Russian artists were also seen in it. The film had stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Sonam, Shammi Kapoor, Dara Singh, Amrish Puri, Saeed Jaffrey, Ariadna Shengelia, Tinu Anand, Georgi Darchiashvili etc. Amjad Khan was initially cast in the role of lead villain in the film, but later he was replaced with Amrish Puri.
