Parshuram Mahadev Temple: ‘Amarnath’ temple is not only in Kashmir but also in Rajasthan, it is related to Lord Parshuram.

Parshuram Mahadev Temple: Lord Parashuram is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the protector of the world. Lord Parashuram is considered to be the fierce incarnation of Shri Hari Vishnu. Parshuram ji was of very angry nature. He had beheaded his mother to obey his father’s orders. He was a great devotee of Mahadev. According to mythological beliefs, Parashurama had cut a big rock with his axe. He did this to do penance.

Then he performed penance in a cave made from it. Later, it was named Parshuram Mahadev Temple. This temple was built by Parshuram ji. This temple is famous by the name of ‘Amarnath’ of Rajasthan. This temple is situated on the border of Pali and Rajsamand of Rajasthan. Its natural beauty is worth seeing. This temple is at an altitude of about 4 thousand feet. To reach here one has to climb more than 500 stairs. All these stairs are steep.

Bholenath seated inside the cave in the form of Shivling.

Bholenath is in the form of Shivalinga inside the cave amidst dense greenery. Ganga flows from Gomukh situated above Shivalinga. The upper part of this cave looks like the udder of a cow. This temple is called Amarnath of Mewar or Rajasthan. This is because to reach this temple one has to climb like the Amarnath temple of Kashmir.

Great importance of this Shiva temple

According to mythology, Lord Parashuram sat in this cave and performed rigorous penance for Lord Shiva. After this, Lord Shiva appeared to him and gave him a divine bow and arrow. This Shiva temple is considered to be of great importance. On special occasions including Parshuram Jayanti, Mahashivratri, a huge crowd of devotees gather in this temple. It is believed that even today, whoever comes to this temple with true heart for darshan, all the problems of his life go away.
