Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday inaugurated the state-of-the-art laser, light and sound show at Smritika War Memorial located in Lucknow Cantonment. This initiative is a big step towards presenting the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Army through modern technology.
30 minute multimedia show will show history of Indian Army
This Hindi multimedia show of about 30 minutes has been prepared with modern projection, sound and lighting technology. It effectively depicts the history of the Indian Army, its major achievements and its contribution to nation-building. The show is dedicated to the valor and glorious heritage of the Indian Armed Forces.
Glimpse of Major Wars and Operations
India’s major wars and operations are shown in detail in this show. In this, important aspects of the wars of 1947-48, 1962, 1965 and 1971 along with the contribution of ‘Operation Meghdoot’ and ‘Operation Vijay’ are also prominently included. Besides, the historical role of the army’s central command has also been depicted effectively.
Tribute to the heroes of Awadh region and Paramveer Chakra winners
In this presentation, the military tradition of Awadh region and the bravery of the ‘Param Vir Chakra’ winners there have been specially shown. This part connects the audience with the bravery of the field and its contribution in the defense of the country.
Focus on modern military technology and self-reliant India
The show also depicts the modernization of the Indian Army amid changing war circumstances and emerging threats. Also, the progress in the defense sector under ‘Self-reliant India’ and the use of new technologies during ‘Operation Vermillion’ have also been included.

The memorial complex has been extensively upgraded to organize laser, light and sound shows. Modern projectors and speakers have been installed in it. Murals depicting new generation military equipment and war trophies have been created. Along with this, a modern amphitheater has also been prepared.
Project completed with the cooperation of army and government
This initiative has been completed by the Central Command Headquarters in collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation. Smritika War Memorial, established in 1994, is an important memorial commemorating the courage and sacrifice of Indian soldiers.
This modern show will inspire the youth
This laser, light and sound show will be organized daily in the evening and will soon be opened to the general public. This initiative will not only strengthen national unity but will also inspire the youth towards the army.
