New Delhi: Every individual wants to move to tier-1 cities, but city life means living in big buildings with limited space for oneself. The majority of people accept the fact and choose this as a part of living close to work and daily needs.
But a question is raised every time: Is this kind of living truly worth it? Recently, a video clip gained attention as a user showed a view from her 19th-floor balcony in Delhi NCR and reflected on life inside the high-rise apartments.
The user is identified as Ishana Nautiyal, and she pointed out the flats towards the tall buildings around her. From the 19th floor, she recorded the building closely packed with an identical structure repeating across the city.
“Yeh dekho ji, badi badi buildings, jaise maachis ke dabbe hote hain, waise yeh buildings hain. (Look at this, these tall buildings are like matchboxes,”) She said in her video.

Nautiyal’s words grabbed attention quickly on social media as the viewers related to her comparison. Later on, she continued to film the video and then showed her son, who was playing cricket in the open area below.
Similarly with other parents living in high-rises, she was also watching her son from a distance. Then again, she expressed, “Toh yeh hai flat walon ki zindagi, maachis ke dabbon mein. (This is what life in apartments feels like, living inside matchboxes.”)
The video received different reactions from users. One noted, “This match box comes with 20-30 years of EMI.” Another added, “It’s far better because no one judges you, there’s no unnecessary gossip, people understand the meaning of privacy, and there are many other positives.”
It’s not always about comparing the things you have or don’t have; be grateful for what you have.
