New Delhi: Pace sensation Auqib Nabi Dar, who created waves with his bowling in the Ranji Trophy, was handed debut by Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League clash against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday. Delhi, who have been in a fine touch, won the toss and opted to bowl first in the 18th match of the cash-rich league.
At the toss, Delhi skipper Axar Patel confirmed that they are handing debut to the fast bowler from Jammu and Kashmir, who replaced Vipraj Nigam in the playing XI for the Capitals. Ashutosh Sharma was the other change made in the Delhi side as he replaced all-rounder Nitish Rana. Nabi’s inclusion in the side should give a major boost to the Capitals’ campaign, who would be looking for another win.
The fast bowler from Baramulla was bought by the Delhi franchise for a whopping price of Rs 8.40 crore. Meanwhile, in a total of three matches, the Delhi Capitals have won two and suffered a lone loss but the side has showcased intent in all the three games.
