NDA Salary 2026: The result of National Defense Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2026, conducted by UPSC, has been declared. This time a total of 742 candidates have been successful, which includes 651 men and 91 women. Parth Kumar Tiwari, who has achieved top rank this time in the entire country, has become the center of discussion, who has created a new record by achieving All India Rank 1. The Commission has also clarified that the marks of successful candidates will be made available on the official website approximately 15 days after the release of the result. How much salary and stipend do trainee cadets get in NDA?
When a candidate gets selected in NDA and starts training, he is given a fixed monthly salary as a Trainee Cadet. During this period, cadets get a stipend of around Rs 56,100 per month, which comes under pay level 10. Along with this, they are also given Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs 15,500 per month. This amount is given as a kind of financial assistance and encouragement for their rigorous military training. Apart from this, cadets also get many types of allowances during the training period.
Allowances received during NDA training
During training, cadets are given many allowances depending on different circumstances and posting, such as-
- HRA (House Rent Allowance): 8% to 24% depending on location
- Transport Allowance: Approximately Rs 3,600 to Rs 7,200 monthly
- DA (Dearness Allowance): 17% of basic salary
- Field Area Allowance: Rs 10,500 monthly
- High Altitude Allowance: Rs 5,300 monthly
- Special Forces Allowance: Rs 9,000 monthly
- Siachen Allowance: Rs 42,500 monthly
- Flying Allowance: Rs 25,000 monthly
- All these allowances are decided as per the posting and working conditions of the cadets.
Rank wise salary after getting posting i.e. commission in NDA
When cadets get commission after completion of NDA training, they are given salary as per their rank. The salary of major ranks is as follows-
- Lieutenant: Rs 56,100-Rs 1,77,500 (MSP 15,500)
- Captain: Rs 61,300-Rs 1,93,900 (MSP 15,500)
- Major: Rs 69,400-Rs 2,07,200 (MSP 15,500)
- Lieutenant Colonel: Rs 1,21,200-Rs 2,12,400 (MSP 15,500)
- Colonel: Rs 1,30,600-Rs 2,15,900 (MSP 15,500)
- Brigadier: Rs 1,39,600-Rs 2,17,600 (MSP 15,500)
- Major General: Rs 1,44,200-Rs 2,18,200 (MSP 15,500)
- Lieutenant General: Rs 1,82,200-Rs 2,24,100 (MSP 15,500)
- HAG Scale: Rs 2,05,400-Rs 2,24,400 (MSP 15,500)
- VCOAS/Army Commander: Rs 2,25,000 (Fixed) (MSP 15,500)
- Chief of Army Staff (COAS): Rs 2,50,000 (Fixed) (MSP 15,500)
Other facilities available in NDA
NDA cadets not only get salary but also get many additional facilities, like-
- Insurance Cover: Around Rs 15 lakh under Army Group Insurance Fund
- Uniforms and equipment: Assistance to about 21,831 during training
- High Value Insurance: Cover up to Rs 75 lakh
- Initial Contribution: Contribute around Rs 5,000 towards the insurance plan.
