During the summer season, lotus can be grown by filling water in plastic tubs. Some people think that it is not possible to grow lotus indoors, whereas this is wrong. You can easily grow lotus in big plastic tubs. For a mini pond look, place pebbles or colorful stones on the edge of the tub and decorate the small space. Choose the right tub
To grow lotus in garden, take a tub of at least 12-18 inches depth. A wide tub is better for the lotus so that the lotus leaves can spread out and grow well.
Prepare soil for growing lotus
Lotus also needs soil along with water. Take heavy clay soil from the garden and add rotten cow dung instead of chemical fertilizer. Fill the soil in the tub by 5-6 inches.
Plant lotus seeds or roots
To grow lotus, you can use lotus seeds or rhizome. Lightly press the lotus root into the soil filled in the tub. Do not make the mistake of pressing the roots into the soil. If there are seeds, rub them lightly and put them in water. When sprouts emerge in 5–7 days, then plant it in tub soil.

Now slowly pour water over the soil filled in the tub. The depth of water should be 4–8 inches. First add less water and then increase it after a few days.
Lotus will grow in 30 days
Keep the plastic tub in sunlight for 5–7 hours every day. Change the water every 10–15 days. Also keep removing dry leaves. Organic fertilizer can be applied once a month, so that the growth of the lotus is good. Lotus planted from the root will bloom in 30–50 days, whereas the lotus planted from the seed takes up to 2–3 months to grow.
