New Delhi: A woman drowned her six-year-old son in a bucket by holding her head under water in it with her lover in Maharashtra‘s Pune. She didn’t stop there; she slammed his body against the floor to make sure he was dead. The couple planned the murder because the boy was becoming an impediment to their relationship and then to escape from the incident, putting it down as a heartbreak.
The officer said that the 27-year-old Basiran Mehboob Sheikh is a resident of Khed in Pune district, and she was estranged from her husband for 10 years and was currently in a relationship with his friend Ram Vinayak Kajewad.
The couple had three children. While two of them lived with their father, the six-year-old Aewez was in his mother’s care. The incident occurred around 11:30 PM on Saturday, April 4, sparking outrage in Kuruli, Khed taluka.
Motive behind the crime
According to the official, “Ram and Basiran felt Aewez was coming in the way of their relationship and decided to kill him. They carried out the murder around 11.30 pm on April 4.”
Basiran, after killing her son, took her body to her parents’ house in Beed and told them that he had died of a heart attack. When Aewez’s paternal grandfather arrived for the funeral, he noticed the marks of assault and filed a police complaint with the Parli Rural Police.
Investigation and arrests
After which, a post-mortem was carried out, which confirmed the murder of the child. Baisran has been arrested, and she confessed to the crime during the police interrogation, while the police are still searching for her absconding lover, Ram Kajewad. The case has been transferred to the South Mahalunge police for further investigation.
