Mutual Fund SIP hits record Rs 32,087 cr in March; Flexi, Small funds favourites

New Delhi: Despite the West Asia severely impacting the Stock Market, Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) data shoed that Rs 32,087 crore was pumped in the monthly Mutual Fund SIP in March 2026, as compared to Rs 29,845 crore in February.

The Mutual Fund industry has recorded strong growth over the recent years. The monthly SIP inflow surged by 24% from Rs 25,925 crore in March 2025. The March data showed that Equity mutual fund inflows recorded a gain of 56 per cent to Rs 40,450 crore, while it stood at Rs 25,977 crore in February.

Flexi Cap recorded highest inflows in March 2026

Investors pumped in Rs 10,054 crore in Flexi cap funds in March 2026. Small cap funds investment was at second spot with a Rs 6,263 crore inflows, while mid cap funds category followed with an investment of Rs 6,063 crore. The Value/contra funds attracted only Rs 2,155 crore.

Debt & Hybrid funds recorded massive outflow

People pulled out money from the Debt mutual funds in March 2026. The category recorded withdrawal of Rs 2.94 lakh crore in the previous month, as compared pumping of 42,106 crore in February.

Heavy selling was recorded in the Hybrid funds category as it recorded an outflow of Rs 16,538 crore in March; in February these funds saw inflow of Rs 11,983 crore.
