WATCH: MK Stalin takes surprise metro ride in Chennai, seeks votes from passengers

Chennai: DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Friday morning took a surprise ride on the Chennai Metro Rail from Chennai Central to AG-DMS as part of his public outreach for the ongoing Assembly election campaign. During the journey, he interacted with commuters and sought votes from passengers on board.

Stalin travelled on the Metro route connecting Chennai Central and Teynampet, utilizing the opportunity to solicit votes from his fellow passengers. Members of the public were delighted to take selfies with the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. Blending in with the general public, he travelled like an ordinary citizen while engaging in his campaign to seek votes.

A large number of Chennai residents rely on the Metro train for their daily commute. With traffic congestion standing as a major challenge in Chennai, the Metro Rail project was introduced as a measure to alleviate this issue and has since received a warm reception from the public.

The legislative assembly elections for Tamil Nadu are scheduled to be held on April 23. A four-way electoral contest is currently unfolding in the state, involving the DMK, AIADMK, TVK, and NTK parties.
