Surprising case: 58 year old woman’s nose became a home for insects, Dr. stunned after seeing the scary scene. Greece Woman Sneezes Out Live Worm In Bizarre Medical Case

A live worm came out of the nose of a 58-year-old woman in Greece when she sneezed. Doctors surgically removed 10 more larvae of the ‘sheep bot fly’, which are commonly found in sheep. The woman is now completely healthy.

A surprising case has come to light from Greece. Here, when a 58-year-old woman sneezed, a live insect about an inch long came out of her nose. This strange incident has surprised even medical experts. In September last year, this woman was working near a herd of sheep. Then he saw many flies flying around his face. But he did not pay much attention to it. A week later, he started having severe sinus pain and cough. Since there were no other symptoms, he ignored this also.

Doctors removed 10 larvae and one pupa

But on October 15, when he sneezed hard, a worm came out of his nose. Seeing this, she got scared and immediately went to an ENT specialist (nose, ear, throat specialist). Doctors performed surgery and took out 10 more larvae (early stage of the worm) and one pupa (post-larval stage) from inside his nose. Investigation revealed that these were the larvae of a fly named ‘Oestrus Ovis’ i.e. ‘Sheep Bot Fly’. These flies usually breed in the nose of sheep. It is very rare to find them in humans.

How did the larva survive in the human body?

Experts say that these larvae do not get the right environment to flourish in the human body. But a bone inside this woman’s nose was slightly crooked, due to which the larvae got space to grow. Usually these larvae die in the human body, but due to the right environment here, they reached the pupa stage. According to the New York Post report, due to timely treatment, all the larvae were completely removed. After treatment, the woman is now completely healthy.
