New Delhi: Bajaj has brought back quite a famous suffix to the Classic Pulsar range of motorcycles. It has launched the Pulsar 180 in India after being on a long hiatus, at Rs 1.22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 180 got discontinued in 2022 and left a void between the Pulsar 150 and 220F.

The Pulsar 150 recently got updates as well, with a new LED headlight and a negative LCD dash, and all of these updates have also gone into the Pulsar 180 as well. It now comes as a single trim with five colour options, including black-gold, black-blue, black-grey, black-red and white.

As the name would suggest, it comes with a 178.6 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 17 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The peak power is unchanged from the one in 2022, though torque has now gone up by 0.8 Nm in comparison to the same. It gets 3 bhp and 1.75 Nm of torque more than the Pulsar 150.

Handling the braking duties are the 280 mm front disc and 230 mm rear disc with ABS. Quite like the entire classic Pulsar range, the 180 too comes with a twin-shock absorber setup and telescopic fork. It comes with a fuel-capacity of 15 litres with a kerb weight of 156 kg, and ground clearance of 165 mm. It gets 17-inch wheels at both ends shod in 90/120-section (F/R) tubeless tyre configuration.

With prices starting at Rs 1.22 lakh, it has a premium of Rs 12,000 over the Pulsar 150. Which means it will rival the TVS Apache RTR 180, which costs Rs 4,000 more.
