PM Narendra Modi’s 23rd Uttarakhand Visit: Expressway launch, rally, crore-worth development gifts and grand welcome

Dehradun: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive in Uttarakhand on April 14 for his 23rd visit since becoming Prime Minister. The BJP has made elaborate preparations to welcome him, with 30,000 party workers expected to shower flowers along his route.

PM Modi will land at the Ganeshpur helipad by helicopter. From there, his convoy will travel via Asia’s longest elevated wildlife corridor to the Datkali Temple. He will then proceed to Mahindra Ground in Garhi Cantonment, where a massive rally has been planned. Several tons of rose petals have been brought in from Dehradun, Saharanpur, Haridwar, and nearby districts for the floral welcome.

Development gifts for Uttarakhand

During the visit, PM Modi will inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, a project worth crores that promises to reduce travel time and boost connectivity. The expressway is being seen as a major gift to Uttarakhand, strengthening infrastructure and tourism.

Boost for BJP campaign

The rally is expected to energize BJP workers ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh have already raised the election atmosphere, and Modi’s presence is expected to provide the “success mantra” for a record third consecutive BJP government in the state.

Teams of workers from Dehradun Rural, Dehradun city, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Roorkee, Narendranagar, and Uttarkashi have been deployed to ensure maximum participation. BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt said the rally will be “grand and historic.”

PM Modi’s special bond with Uttarakhand

Since 2015, Modi has visited Uttarakhand frequently, making him the first Prime Minister to visit a mountainous state so many times. He has a deep spiritual connection with Kedarnath, having visited the shrine six times. His visits have often been linked with development announcements and messages of faith.

During natural disasters that disrupted the Kedarnath pilgrimage, Modi personally visited the shrine and assured the nation of a safe Char Dham Yatra. His repeated visits have made him a strong ambassador for Uttarakhand’s tourism and spiritual heritage.

Preparations under review

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is personally overseeing arrangements. A review meeting with officials and party leaders has been scheduled to ensure smooth execution of the rally. Safety, traffic management, and public facilities are being prioritized.

Significance of the visit

For Uttarakhand, the visit is both political and developmental. While BJP hopes to strengthen its campaign for a third term, the inauguration of the expressway and other projects will directly benefit the state’s economy and connectivity.

As Modi arrives with gifts, blessings, and a success mantra, the BJP is aiming to take the election atmosphere to new heights, making its “hat-trick” goal easier.
