Netanyahu’s stance: support as well as action
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on one hand supported America’s ceasefire decision, but on the other hand also made it clear that military action against Lebanon will continue. He says Israel will not retreat as long as Hezbollah remains a threat. On one side there are ceasefire efforts, on the other side there are continuous attacks and counter-measures. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran is being considered a big signal at the global level. If the situation continues to deteriorate, it could impact not only the Middle East but the entire world – especially in matters of oil, trade and security.
