Iran-Israel-US war LIVE updates: Iran says peace talks ‘unreasonable’ after Israeli strikes on Lebanon

New Delhi: Israel carried out its heaviest strikes on Lebanon yet, killing hundreds and escalating tensions across the region. In response, Iran warned that continuing peace talks with the United States would be “unreasonable.”

Iran’s parliament speaker, Mohammed Bager Ghalibaf, accused Israel of violating ceasefire conditions by targeting Hezbollah, and criticised US demands to curb Iran’s nuclear programme. In response, Iran halted traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

While Donald Trump had announced a two-week ceasefire, both the US and Israel clarified it does not apply to Lebanon. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed strikes on Lebanon would continue.

US Vice President JD Vance said Iran may have misunderstood the scope of the agreement. With deep divisions remaining, it is unclear if planned talks will go ahead.
