There were massive explosions in many areas including Beirut. So far, more than 1500 people have died in this conflict and lakhs of people have been rendered homeless.

Amidst the ongoing tension in the Middle East, the situation in Lebanon has suddenly become more serious. Israel launched massive air strikes simultaneously in Lebanon on Wednesday. According to reports, this is considered to be the biggest coordinated attack of the current war so far. The Israeli army targeted more than 100 targets within just 10 minutes.

These attacks shook many areas of southern Lebanon and the eastern Bekaa Valley, including Beirut. Sounds of explosions were heard in many parts of the city and black smoke was seen rising into the sky.

Ceasefire with Iran, but attacks on Lebanon continue

Amidst this entire incident, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has clearly said that the ceasefire between America and Iran does not apply to Lebanon. Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adrai also issued a statement saying that the military campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon will continue. According to him, the fighting in Lebanon is not over yet and the terms of the ceasefire do not apply here.

Claim of targeting Hezbollah targets

The Israeli Army says that missile launchers, command centers and intelligence structures have been targeted in these attacks. The army alleges that Hezbollah hides its military structures in residential areas, which increases the danger to civilians. Israel has appealed to the Lebanese government and citizens to prevent Hezbollah from establishing bases in civilian areas.

The struggle continues since March 2

The current conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has intensified since March 2. Since then, Israel has launched continuous attacks in several areas of southern and eastern Lebanon. Although central Beirut was rarely attacked, this time there have been major attacks there too.

Tension increased after missile attacks

The conflict escalated when Hezbollah fired missiles following attacks by the US and Israel on Iran. In response, Israel started large-scale air strikes and ground operations in Lebanon. According to reports, more than 1,530 people have died in Lebanon so far in this conflict. These include more than 100 women and about 130 children. Apart from this, more than 10 lakh people have been forced to leave their homes.

Hope of returning home dashed

After the news of ceasefire between Iran and America, many displaced families of Lebanon were preparing to return to their homes. People in cities like Beirut and Sidon expressed hope for relief. But the situation changed again after Israel announced new military action. 35-year-old Fadi Zaidan said while talking to the media that it has become very difficult to live in a tent with his family. He said that now there is a fear of returning home, because there is a danger of attacks there too.

World’s increased concern

The increasing attacks in the Middle East have increased the concern of the international community. Experts believe that if a diplomatic solution is not found soon, this conflict could turn into a major regional crisis. At present, the eyes of the world are fixed on whether this conflict will subside in the coming days or it may flare up further.
