Drunk driver kills two engineering students in Hyderabad’s Vanasthalipuram

Hyderabad: A man in a Honda City car, driving under the influence of alcohol, struck two young Engineering students on a two-wheeler and another man walking along the road, Tv9 Telugu reported.

The car dragged them for a distance of one hundred meters before overturning. The two young men on the motorcycle died on the spot, while the pedestrian sustained severe injuries. The injured individual was shifted to a hospital for treatment. Reports indicate that his condition is currently critical.

The police have identified the deceased as Shiva and Sandeep Johel, second-year ECE students at Mahaveer Engineering College.

Engineering college students protest:

Consequently, college students staged a protest, expressing their outrage against the car driver. The students raised slogans demanding that the driver be handed over to them. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.

Preliminary investigations have confirmed that the driver of the car was under the influence of alcohol. The police have taken the accused into custody and are interrogating him.
