RR vs MI: Mumbai Indians stunned by Yashasvi-Vaibhav’s explosion, Rajasthan’s third consecutive win

Rajasthan Royals, continuing the same style in which they started IPL 2026, have won their third consecutive match. Once again Rajasthan registered a big victory on the basis of explosive innings of its openers Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Rajasthan defeated Mumbai Indians by 27 runs in just 11-11 overs due to rain in Guwahati. Jaiswal single-handedly played a brilliant inning of 77 runs. This is Mumbai’s second consecutive defeat in 3 matches.

Yashasvi-Vaibhav shocked the senses

In this match held on Tuesday 7th April at Barsapara Stadium, one had to wait for 2 hours 40 minutes for the game to start. When the match started after 10 pm, Jaiswal then-Suryavanshi Only the roar of the bat was heard. Batting first, Rajasthan scored a huge score of 150 runs after losing 3 wickets in 11 overs. Both the openers alone scored 80 runs in 5 overs.

During this, the most exciting moment came when Vaibhav and Jasprit Bumrah came face to face. Vaibhav, playing Bumrah for the first time, hit a six on his first ball. Then in the same over, the 15 year old star blew everyone’s senses by hitting another six. After the dismissal of Vaibhav (39 runs, 14 balls, 5 sixes), Jaiswal scored a half-century in 23 balls and remained steadfast till the end to take the team to this score. Jaiswal scored 77 runs in 32 balls, in which he hit 10 fours and 4 sixes.

Mumbai’s defeat was decided in just 5 overs

To score 151 runs, Mumbai also needed the same start as Rajasthan did. But Mumbai’s innings went the opposite way and the team’s defeat was almost certain in the first 3 overs itself. In the first, second and third overs, Ryan Rickleton, Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma were out for only 22 runs. Captain Hardik Pandya and Tilak Verma also walked in the 5th over.

Mumbai had lost 5 wickets for just 46 runs and defeat seemed certain. But here Naman Dheer (25) and Sherfane Rutherford (25) batted aggressively and raised the hopes of Mumbai by making a partnership of 47 runs. However, both of them were out within the next 10 runs and then Mumbai could not do any miracle. Ultimately Mumbai’s innings ended at 123 runs.
