Iran-Israel War Latest News: Tehran closes all diplomatic channels with Washington after Trump’s ‘whole civilisation will die’ threat

Hours before US President Donald Trump’s self-imposed deadline, Iran has shut all diplomatic and indirect communication with the United States. According to Iranian media outlet Tehran Times, Iran suspended all message exchanges and any ongoing indirect talks. This decisive move came just before the deadline for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for global oil trade.

Trump Issues Deadly Warning

In response, Trump posted a stern warning on Truth Social, calling the night “one of the most important moments” in world history. He added that “a whole civilisation will die tonight, never to be brought back again,” while claiming he does not want it to happen.

The closure of communication channels significantly raises tensions between the two nations and could have serious implications for global oil prices and maritime security.

Analysts say the Strait of Hormuz, through which nearly a fifth of the world’s oil passes, remains a flashpoint in US-Iran relations.

Attack on Kharg Island

The United States launched fresh military strikes on Iran’s strategic Kharg Island on Tuesday, targeting several military installations, according to an American official cited by Axios. The attacks came just hours before a deadline set by US President Donald Trump for Iran to agree to a ceasefire deal.

IRGC Warns ‘Restraint Is Over’ After Attack

Following the strikes, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a strong warning, saying that its “restraint is over.” The group said it could target infrastructure linked to the United States and its allies in response to the attack.
