J&K police bust interstate LeT terror network, nab 5 including 2 pakistani terrorists; ‘Khargosh’ at large

n a sweeping anti-terror operation, Jammu and Kashmir Police dismantled a deep-rooted Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) network spanning multiple states, arresting five terrorists including two Pakistanis and detaining around 20 associates, including a woman, for questioning, official sources confirmed.

Triggered by precise intelligence inputs and digital intercepts, the crackdown targeted over 20 locations across Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Delhi. Raids uncovered incriminating material that exposed a conspiracy to provide logistics and financial support to terrorists nationwide.

Key arrests include ‘Huraira @ Abdullah’, a top LeT operative and Pakistani national active in the Kashmir Valley since 2010. He managed terror hideouts and funding channels. Another Pakistani, Khubaib @ Usman—who has also operated in Kashmir for over a decade was nabbed alongside him.

Sources revealed that the network’s other main commander, Pakistani terrorist ‘Khargosh’, remains at large. Active in the Valley for 16 years, he married a local woman in Srinagar’s Zakura area. Both she and her father—who allegedly aided Khargosh, Huraira, and others—have been detained. Three locals, including the father, were among those arrested.

Backed by Pakistani handlers, the module facilitated cross-border movements using forged documents and fake identities. “This network operated across Kashmir, Jammu, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Delhi, helping foreign terrorists evade capture and execute operations,” a senior police official told News24.

Interrogations led to a massive arms haul from associates in the Kashmir Valley, including five AK rifles, two pistols, six grenades, and ammunition. A major cache was recovered from the father-daughter duo’s residence in Zakura.

Despite the Darbar Move in Jammu, DG-P Nalin Prabhat stationed at Srinagar since this operation was launched. Sources said he personally monitored the major anti-terror operation, which successfully dismantled the interstate LeT network.

The coordinated interstate effort, monitored by the DG himself, exposed vulnerabilities in document verification. Probes suggest Khargosh may have fled India using an Indian passport—a claim yet to be officially verified.

J&K Police continue searches to dismantle the broader LeT infrastructure. Officials hailed the bust as a “major success” in disrupting Lashker’s terror financing, logistics, and operations.
