While the actress has maintained silence, gossip mills were activated after a film personality claimed that she could quit acting. Actor-journalist Chithra Lakshmanan revealed recently that the announcement could be on the way. Hitting back at retirement buzz, Trisha shared an Instagram Story, denying all speculations. Her quirky statement shut down baseless rumours.
Trisha reacts to retirement buzz
On Instagram, Trisha denied the retirement rumour with a quirky statement. She wrote, “Apparently I’ve quit films, married a rich businessman and I’m raising quadruplets who turned two yesterday! Anything else I should add or did we cover today’s fiction quota (sic).”
Why did retirement rumour gain ground?
The rumour of retirement gained ground, and her previous Instagram Story that read, “Love is not everything and yet everything is meaningless without love,” added fuel to the speculation. Trisha has been actively hitting back at false allegations and derogatory comments. After she was seen with Vijay at a producer’s family function, filmmaker-actor R Parthiban took a dig at the actress without mentioning her name. However, he used Kundavai, Trisha’s character’s name in the Ponniyin Selvan franchise. Breaking her silence, Trisha tweeted, hitting back at the crude words used for her.
Trisha clarified that the organisers of an award ceremony down included her name and picture during a segment at the last minute, based on the ‘request of an individual conveyed through his assistant.’ The actress further added that a ‘microphone doesn’t make a comment intelligent or humorous. It just makes stupidity louder.’ She also slammed the actor for using crude words ‘without knowledge’.
Trisha-Vijay-Sangeetha controversy
While and Sangeetha’s divorce case is still in court, Trisha has stayed away from commenting on her personal matters. Sangeetha filed a divorce petition at the District Court in Chengalpattu against Vijay, a famous Tamil film actor and TVK leader, who is popularly called Thalapathy. The petition seeks dissolution of their marriage, citing emotional cruelty, neglect, and an alleged extramarital relationship.
The petition stated that it was in April 2021 that Sangeetha discovered Vijay’s extramarital affair with an actress. Despite assurances that it would end, the association allegedly continued. Attempts to resolve the matter amicably between September 2021 and February 2022 through legal counsel reportedly failed.
