Shah Rukh Khan Reached Out To Rajinikanth After Turning Down Jailer 2 Cameo: Report

Shah Rukh Khan, who was in talks for a cameo in Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated Jailer 2, has reportedly decided to step back from the project.

According to a latest report, the Bollywood superstar turned down the offer in a polite and respectful manner due to scheduling conflicts. At the moment,   is keeping his complete focus on King, which will mark the theatrical debut of his daughter Suhana Khan.

Why Did Shah Rukh Khan Reject Jailer 2 Cameo?

The Jailer 2 team had approached Shah Rukh Khan for a cameo and he was open to the idea. However, a conflict in timelines proved to be the deciding factor. According to Pinkvilla, Shah Rukh Khan wanted to do the part but requested that Jailer 2 be scheduled for release after King, which is set to hit theatres in December 2026.

His reasoning was that he has a distinct look in King and does not want the same appearance to be seen in any other film before its release. He is keen to preserve the exclusivity of his on-screen presence for that project.

The makers of Jailer 2, however, were looking at an August 2026 release, which falls well ahead of King’s December date. Given this scheduling conflict, both parties agreed to part ways on the cameo in a cordial manner. The makers had originally requested a five-day shoot in April, but with commitments to King taking priority, a workable schedule could not be agreed upon.

After things did not work out, SRK is said to have personally reached out to Rajinikanth to convey that he very much wishes to collaborate in the future, whether for a cameo or a full-fledged role. The Jailer 2 team is now looking at other superstars.

The mutual respect between Shah Rukh Khan and Rajinikanth is well established. The two legends previously shared screen space in Ra.One (2011), where Rajinikanth appeared in a memorable cameo. The prospect of seeing them together again in Jailer 2 had generated considerable excitement across the industry.
