Thiruvananthapuram: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy alleged that Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan is deceiving the people of the state and that he is ready for a debate over it.
Campaigning for the Congress led-United Democratic Front (UDF), he said that Vijayan was taking cues from PM Narendra Modi instead of communist leaders like Jyoti Basu.
“I am ready to debate with him when he is ready. Who are his role models? Modi and Amit Shah or Jyoti Basu or Somnath Chatterjee? He’s following Modi and that is not acceptable to the people of Keralam.”
‘Success of Kerala has nothing to do with LDF:’
Revanth Reddy stated that Vijayan his LDF government does not deserve any credit for the development of Keralam.
“Kerala’s success is not Pinarayi Vijayan’s success. There were Congress leaders like Oomen Chandy and Karunakaran who laid down the roadmap for its success. The state has plenty of natural resources. The success has nothing to do with LDF government.”
War of words between two CMs:
The war of words between Reddy and Vijayan has been ongoing as they campaign for Kerala Assembly elections, which will take place on April 9.
In response to Revanth Reddy’s previous remarks, Keralam CM said that his statements lack factual backing. “I want to express strong disagreement on the attitude of making personally insulting remarks to settle political differences.”
He further stated that the LDF government is continuously reporting progress made in implementing the promises made in the election manifestos for the last 10 years. “The progress reports are available on public domain. Hence, there is no need for me to list out our achievements.”
“I am unable to agree, if you think that taking a strong stand on matters can only be expressed through a language crossing borders of decency,” Kerala CM concluded.
