The accused, Darius Dias (22), was arrested on Monday in connection with the crash that occurred in Dona Paula on Sunday night.
Mini Cooper crashes into bike
According to police, Dias was allegedly driving a Mini Cooper at high speed when the incident took place near a road crossing opposite Taj Cidade Goa while heading towards Goa University.
Officials said the car collided with a two-wheeler carrying two hotel employees. The car had a temporary registration plate, which is installed before a vehicle is registered with the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
Woman dies, colleague critical
The pillion rider, Diksha Parwadkar (23), was declared dead on arrival at a private hospital. Her colleague, D Arunkumar (26), who was riding the motorcycle, sustained grievous injuries and remains in critical condition.
Both victims were employees at a five-star hotel and were returning home after completing their night shift at the time of the accident.

The police said that the accused drove his vehicle at high speed and in a rash and negligent manner, without proper care and caution, while proceeding from Dona Paula towards the Goa University.
They added that upon reaching the crossing, the luxury car collided with a two-wheeler motor vehicle driven by rider D Arun Kumar and pillion rider Diksha Parwadkar.
Case registered, probe underway
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the accused has been taken into custody.
Offences 106(1), 125(b), 281 BNS 2023 have been registered against him.
Authorities said further investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
