IPL 2026 Match number 12 was cancelled. Rain washed out the match played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings. After the cancellation of this match, the Instagram post of Shreyas Iyer’s sister is going viral, in which she is seen making fun of Shahrukh Khan’s team i.e. Kolkata Knight Riders. Due to the cancellation of the match played at Eden Gardens, both the teams had to share 1-1 points.
KKR vs PBKS: Match canceled at Eden Gardens for the second consecutive IPL season
However, this is not the first time that the match between KKR and PBKS at Eden Gardens, Kolkata has been cancelled. Last season itself, rain wreaked havoc on the match between these two teams. In IPL 2025, on 26 April, the teams of Kolkata and Punjab were face to face at Eden Gardens, which was canceled due to rain. In that match, PBKS had scored 201 runs while playing first. But when KKR came out for run chase, rain interfered and their innings could not go beyond 7 runs.
This time, for the second consecutive season of IPL, rain has shown its effect. Another match played between the same two teams on the same ground has been cancelled. This time even the first inning was not completed. The result was that after the cancellation of the match, due to distribution of points, KKR’s account in the points table was opened.

Shrestha Iyer, sister of Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer, has made fun of the same one point won by KKR. He made a video targeting Shahrukh Khan’s team, which was also posted on Instagram. In the video, she is seen targeting KKR and saying that Punjabis have big hearts, let’s give them one point.

Due to the cancellation of the match, Punjab Kings now have 5 points after 3 matches in the points table of IPL 2026 and are at number 1. Even after opening the account with 1 point after 3 matches, KKR is at number 8.
