After Iran downed F-15E jet, the US launched a major rescue operation. Special forces successfully rescued the second crew member trapped in the mountains of Iran within 36 hours. Trump called it the most dangerous rescue operation in the country’s history.
Washington/Tehran: Two days ago, Iran had shot down an American F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet. To save the second Air Force crew member of this jet, the American Army conducted a mission which you will be surprised to hear. US President Donald Trump has described this mission as the most dangerous and exciting rescue operation in the history of the country.
Trump said, ‘In a very courageous search and rescue operation, we have successfully rescued our second Air Force member trapped in the mountains of Iran. On my instructions, the army sent several aircraft equipped with the world’s deadliest weapons and miraculously brought our soldier back safely. The pilot suffered injuries, but is fine now. The rescued pilot is a senior weapons officer of the rank of colonel in the US Air Force. Trump also told that Israel had also helped in this operation.
Gave a befitting reply to Iran
On Friday, Iran surprised everyone by shooting down America’s F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet. Both the crew members present in the plane saved their lives by jumping with parachute. One of them (the pilot) was rescued on Friday itself. The news of the second crew member (weapon officer) being safe on a hill was confirmed. Soon after, the US landed hundreds of its special commandos, several aircraft and helicopters on Iranian soil on Saturday night. This mission was successfully completed by Sunday morning. 36 hours after the fighter jet fell, America once again showed its military might to the world by safely evacuating its pilot.
How was this operation?
On one hand the American Army was searching for its missing crew member, while on the other hand Iran was also trying its best to catch him. The Iranian government had even announced a reward of Rs 50 lakh for anyone giving information about it. Meanwhile, as soon as it became known that the American soldier was alive and hiding on a hill in South Isfahan, America started monitoring the area 24 hours a day and started making a rescue plan.
CIA spread false news
Meanwhile, the American intelligence agency CIA spread a false news that the missing soldier was being brought back safely by land route. Iran believed this and calmed down believing that he had left the country. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the US Army landed hundreds of its special commandos at an old, closed airport in southern Isfahan province. Heavy air strikes were carried out in the areas around the hill where the soldier was hiding so that the Iranian army could not reach there. Amidst these attacks, US Special Forces reached the pilot and began the process of evacuating him safely. According to a senior officer, when the Iranian army came to know about this, they attacked, after which there was firing from both the sides.
During this time, two MC-130J aircraft carrying special forces got stuck in the sand and broke down. After this, 3 new planes had to be called. The officers and the Special Forces team rescued by these planes returned. It is reported that the two MC-130 aircraft that were damaged were destroyed by explosion on the spot so that they could not fall into the hands of the Iranian Army.
The pilot was on a 7000 feet high hill
The F-15’s second crew member (weapon officer), who escaped by parachute after the plane fell, climbed a mountain 7,000 feet above sea level south of Isfahan. He was seriously injured and had only a small pistol and a communication device. With this help he remained safe from being captured by Iranian soldiers.
Which aircraft were used?
In this dangerous mission to rescue its pilot trapped in Iran, the US Army used many modern HH-60W Jolly Green-2 rescue helicopters, A-10 attack jets, HC-130 aircraft and hundreds of special commandos. Apart from this, F-35 fighter jets were also kept ready for any emergency.
for the first time in history
US President Donald Trump said, “This is the first time in American military history to bring back two crew members stranded in an enemy country safely. We do not leave any American soldier alone. Without losing any soldier, we have brought back both our pilots safely. With this, we have once again proved our strength in the skies of Iran.”
