Police in Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district have arrested a 25-year-old woman for allegedly raping a 16-year-old boy she befriended on Instagram. The incident came to light when the victim’s mother lodged a complaint at a local police station in Kabirdham.
According to reports, the accused woman called the minor victim to a hotel on Bhoramdev Road on April 1, 2026, where she allegedly pressured him to have sex despite her refusal. He initially used emotional manipulation and threats to silence her.
Both of them met on Instagram and became friends before love marriage. According to the police complaint, on the day of the incident, the accused arranged to meet at a hotel, talked to the boy and then forced himself on him.
The boy remained silent for several days out of fear, but later told his mother, after which his mother reached the local police station and lodged a complaint against the woman. The authorities have sent the accused woman to judicial custody until the investigation continues.
